Emilie Dearing, Chair |
 |
Ms. Dearing is a Certified Clinical Specialist in Adult Psychiatric
and Mental Health Nursing with a multi-ethnic private practice
and consultation services agency in Fairfax, Virgiinia. She was
a consultant to the Southeast Asian Health Education Project,
conducted by the George Washington University Center for Health
Services Research and Policy, which seeks to learn more about
health risks in the Cambodian, Lao and Vietnamese communities
in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area.
Ms. Dearing has a B.S. in Nursing from Concordia College in Manila
and her M.S. in Nursing from the University of Maryland. |
Terry Gock, Ph.D., Vice Chair |

Dr. Gock is the Associate Director for the Asian Pacific Family
Center, an organization that serves the Asian American and Pacific
Islander population in the San Gabriel Valley through programs
in mental health, substance abuse prevention, child abuse prevention,
gang and violence prevention, mentoring and family enhancement.
Dr. Gock is also an organizational consultant and a program proposal
reviewer in a private practice for various non-profit and government
organizations, as well as a clinical and forensic psychologist
in a private practice.
He has a B.A. in Psychology from California State University
Chico and a Ph.D. degree in Clinical Psychology from Washington
University. |
Jeff Mori, M.A., Treasurer |

Mr. Mori has been the Executive Director of the Asian American
Recovery Services, Inc. (AARS) since 1998. The agency has grown
from 60 to 150 employees under his leadership and now serves Asian
American and Pacific Islanders in three counties: San Francisco,
San Mateo and Santa Clara. Before joining AARS, Mr. Mori was appointed
by Mayor Willie L. Brown Jr. as Director to the Mayor's Office
of Children, Youth and Their Families for the city and County
of San Francisco.
Mr. Mori received an M.A.Ed. from the University of San Francisco.

Alan Shinn, M.S.W., Secretary |

Mr. Shinn is the Executive Director of the Coalition for a Drug-Free
Hawaii in Honolulu, HI. Prior to this, he was the Executive Director
of the Asian Community Mental Health Services (ACMHS) in Oakland,
CA. Mr. Shinn has extensive experience developing exemplary prevention
and treatment programs for API populations and was a former member
of the California Department of Alcohol and Drug Program's API
Constituent Committee.
He received his B.A. and M.S.W. from the University of Hawaii. |
